Like most authors, Dal has known times of feast and times of famine. To get through the lean times, Dal has made a living doing just about anything: farming, teaching, waiting tables, tutoring high school history and literature, and practicing criminal law.
Some of Dal’s better jobs include writing dry English instruction manuals for Far Eastern machine manufacturers, creating content for educational CD-ROMs (Dal’s team won an international prize for one of those), and writing scripts and narrative for film, television, documentaries, the internet, tour sites, etc.
But Dal’s great love is fiction. Toward that end, Dal has completed books one and three of a fantasy fiction series, an action-thriller movie script, a television series that was recently described as Law and Order meets E.R. meets As The World Turns meets The Wire and, among other short works, Hawk Stories, about an almost perfect New York detective who spirals from the heights of heroism to the depths of darkness, to the brink of oblivion, and perhaps beyond… but we won’t tell.
